How does the IMV calculator work?

The Buronia IMV calculator gives an instant estimate of the Spanish Minimum Living Income based on four inputs: number of adults, dependent children, single-parent status and residence in Spain.

How is the IMV 2026 calculated?

The IMV is a base amount plus household-composition supplements:

  • Single adult: €658/month
  • Per additional adult: +€197
  • Per dependent child: +€197

Single-parent families: ~22% uplift on the total.

Example: couple with 1 child = 658 + 197 (extra adult) + 197 (child) = €1,052/month.

Important: the final benefit may be reduced by other household income — the IMV covers the gap between current income and the minimum guarantee.

Who is entitled to the IMV?

You can apply if you have:

  • Legal and effective residence in Spain for at least 1 year
  • Age between 23 and 65 (exceptions for minors with dependent children)
  • Household income below the IMV guarantee
  • Assets below the threshold (~3× the annual guarantee)

The household must have been formed at least 6 months before the application (except for victims of gender-based violence and other special cases).
